Introduction
Sorø Municipality is a municipality in Region Zealand with several welfare centers and departments, including Children and Families, Social and Health, Labor Market and Citizen Services, and Technology, Environment and Operations. The municipality wanted to strengthen cross-organizational project management and create a better overview across departments.
As part of this, Sorø Municipality wanted to test monday.com as a common collaboration and project management tool that could be used widely in the organization – regardless of employees’ technical skills.
Development areas
Sorø Municipality identified the following needs:
- One common project management tool that could be used across departments
- A user-friendly platform that could be used by employees with different technical skills
- Better overview of projects, tasks and processes across the organization
- Reduce manual workflows in project and task management
Implementation
Initially, monday.com was introduced as a pilot project in Sorø Municipality. Approximately 10 employees were involved in the project, of which two were registered as super users.
Employees were trained to set up their workflows and use the platform for project management. This reduced manual workflows and created a better overview of the processes. During the implementation, the municipality also realized that the platform could be used internally to manage tasks more efficiently.
How to proceed
To support Sorø Municipality’s cross-organizational project management, one of our consultants trained the two super users to manage monday.com so they could train the rest of the staff.
The project was launched in the spring of 2023. During the first months, there were weekly meetings between our consultant and the municipality. To ensure smooth implementation and customization, our consultant continued to assist the municipality in the implementation, handover and operational phases on an ongoing basis, as needed.
The positive experience with the pilot project has led to more administrative employees in Sorø Municipality now using monday.com going forward.
