What is your professional background?
I have a background as a Java developer and IT architect and have used it in different contexts, both in public and private companies. Before co-founding aety, I worked as a freelancer doing consulting work for other companies.
What kind of workplace does the partner community want to create in aety?
In the partner circle, we want to create a social workplace where we can offer interesting tasks. We want employees to be able to take responsibility for their own tasks, while at the same time having flexibility when it comes to solving tasks. We appreciate employees who can make suggestions on how a given task can be solved and who can manage their own time. At aety, we are not interested in micromanagement. Furthermore, we believe that competence development and learning by doing go hand in hand. We encourage our employees to attend courses and conferences, but at the same time we want them to get their feet wet on various tasks from the start.
Why is flexibility one of the core values of aety?
We respect the individual’s need to make everyday life work. We believe that you perform at your best when you can work independently with a lot of freedom in the way you do things. For us, employees in balance ultimately contribute to a good customer experience. I don’t think it’s optimal to have a job where you have to be in your office chair from 8am to 5pm every day, and on top of that you have to make an appointment 2 weeks in advance if you’re going to the dentist. Flexibility is also important to make family life work, and ultimately, all of us in the partner group appreciate having a flexible workplace. Flexibility goes both ways, of course, but we generally trust that the tasks will be solved.
What are your goals for the aety development team?
Our business has been built around consultancy work interspersed with various customer projects, and that has been the main focus of the development team. We still have a lot of exciting projects with our customers, but have now also started our own product development. This is clearly a venture that we would like to see grow as there is room for it. The ambition is that employees in the development team will have the opportunity to develop our own products internally, but at times also take on consultancy assignments and customer projects that provide learning, input and inspiration to the team. Good collaboration is based on trust and the team’s ability to work stronger together. We therefore cherish our relationships with each other and each of us takes responsibility for sharing our knowledge. We benefit from each other’s professional skills so that everyone can make the best possible contribution to the task at hand.
