Essential features in BigPicture
Below we briefly describe the application’s two main features, which are its Roadmap and Board functions. We also illustrate the processes visually, so you can better understand how and why you should support your portfolio management with BigPicture.
Roadmap
The application’s Roadmap function can structure tasks hierarchically to get an overview of grouped tasks and deliveries. The Roadmap module also allows you to reorganize and group your tasks based on custom fields and set baselines for your projects.
BigPicture’s Roadmap function is illustrated below. On the left, the tasks are hierarchically divided based on different issues with stories, and on the right, you see the tasks displayed on a timeline.
In BigPicture’s Roadmap function, you can also clearly see whether there is an exceeded task or a task outside the main task. For example, it may be that the task does not fall within the same time frame as the main task. We have illustrated this below, on the left, in yellow. The exceeded tasks are marked, on the right, in red. To open up the functionalities, you have to press the eye, marked in green, in the top left corner.
Board
When you use the Board function in BigPicture, you can see all team dependencies and timeboxes illustrated in three colors. Many customers have requested this feature. Below you can see the meaning of the three colors:
- Green: The dependence between the tasks is possible.
- Yellow: The two tasks are within the same timebox. You must therefore be aware of starting the tasks in the correct order.
- Red: The planned dependence is not temporally possible.
Another essential feature of the Board function is that you can see your backlog in the info bar.
