With artificial intelligence integrated into the monday.com platform, you gain access to improved workflows that help you optimize and streamline your daily tasks!
Who can use monday AI?
To start using monday AI, the user must first request access if the AI features are not already enabled on their account. When a user submits a request, the administrator receives an email with the request. To activate monday AI, the administrator must accept the platform’s terms and conditions.
Please note that this process differs for enterprise customers.
Administrators have full control over the AI features and can disable monday AI at any time through the administration section, giving them the flexibility to decide whether AI should be available to users within the organization.

When a text summarization automation is triggered, monday AI will read the text in a designated field on your board and summarize it in a separate designated field.
When an “improve text” automation is triggered, monday AI will read the text in a designated field on your board and refine it in a separate designated field.
In general, monday AI’s “improve” text blocks will give your text a more professional and polished tone. The AI will also correct grammar! For example:
7. Detect a sentiment with AI (text column)

Monday AI Columns
With the implementation of monday AI columns, you can use AI with your monday columns.
Currently, you can use AI in the following columns:
- Text column
- Status column
- Dropdown column
To apply monday AI in a text column, status column, or dropdown column, open the three-dot menu to the right of the column header. Select “Fill with AI” from the menu.
Text Column
AI actions available are:
- Summarize your text
- Improve the text
- Sentiment analysis
- Custom block
- Translate
Each AI action provides different options in the secondary dropdown menu.
Status Column & Dropdown Column
“Categorize” is the only available action for the status and dropdown columns.
With “Categorize,” monday AI reads a text and automatically selects one of the available labels you’ve created for your dropdown or status column. The selected label is then applied to the column.
When you choose “Categorize,” another status or dropdown menu will allow you to specify which text monday AI should analyze. You can choose between “Item name” or “Any other text column.”
If you select “Item name,” monday AI will read the text in the “Item name” field, categorize it, and then update the column label based on its choice.
If you select “Any other text column,” monday AI will read the text from the chosen column, select an appropriate category, and update the column label accordingly.

3 Tips for Using monday AI Most Effectively in Text Columns, Status Columns, and Dropdown Columns
1. Use 3-10 easily understandable labels. This makes it easier for AI to categorize correctly by reducing ambiguity and ensuring the AI can make accurate selections.
2. Make sure your labels are well-defined and distinct from one another. This helps prevent confusion and ensures the AI can choose the most appropriate label without mixing them up.
3. Provide sufficient information in input text. This allows the AI to make more accurate decisions and improve the overall effectiveness of categorization.
