Back in March, we announced that Atlassian would offer data residency to standard and premium cloud plans. Today, we can announce that the first step has been taken and data residency is now included in all new standard and premium cloud licenses. For any existing standard and premium cloud customers, data residency will automatically be enabled in October 2021.

Data Residency

For many companies located in the EU, data residency plays a central role in the decision to migrate to the cloud. Atlassian currently offer data residency in the EU and the US. Nonetheless, it is expected that data residency will be offered in the UK including other international locations. Data residency refers to the location in which data is stored and for many European companies, it is important that their data is stored within the EU. The news of data residency is therefore warmly welcomed by aety as it allows us to offer better solutions to our customers.
