monday.com is a fantastic collaboration tool that is perfect for project management. monday.com helps create an overview of your and your team’s progress. In this blog post, we will introduce you to how monday.com can be used for project management by you as an employee in a team who wants a list for daily or weekly tasks, but also by you as project managers or portfolio managers who want to get an overview over the project process.
It is ideal to have a centralized platform where you can easily see project information to manage projects effectively. You will now be introduced to two boards that are used for different purposes but can be linked together to help identify and track projects. The Project board allows you to see the big picture in one high-level view, while the task board shows respective projects’ details and manageable tasks.
The first board is a project board, which is a high-level board. The Project board allows you to get an overview of one or more projects. This kind of board is an excellent tool for project managers and portfolio managers who need to see how the projects are progressing but don’t need to see all the details of the projects.
The second board is a task board, which is a low-level board. The team can use this to manage all the details between the significant milestones, essential aspects, and details of your and the team’s tasks in the project. In contrast to a high-level board, intended to provide a project overview, low-level boards follow the projects closely. A low-level board can keep track of your daily and weekly tasks, task deadlines, budget, and effortless collaboration with your colleagues.
In this case, we have supplemented our high-level project board with a lower-level weekly task board. This allows managers to see the overall status updates needed while the team handles day-to-day tasks with more granular results.
In this video, we show how a high-level and a low-level board are connected in monday.com to create synergies between tasks and projects.
